Spear & Jackson 8100RS Razorsharp Telescopic Ratchet Anvil Lopper details:
- Ratchet action for powerful, progressive cutting with twist and lock extendable mechanism
- C50 carbon steel blades, hardened and tempered for durability
- PTFE coated blade for rust resistance and smooth cutting
- Non-slip comfort grips
- Lightweight aluminium handles
The Spear & Jackson Razorsharp Telescopic Ratchet Anvil Lopper is ideal for cutting thick stems of dead, woody material and are better suited for heavy-duty use than tools with a bypass action as they are less likely to distort or 'spread' when cutting thicker stems. These loppers feature a powerful ratchet action which allows cutting in small progressive strokes to cut through thick branches with ease. The c50 carbon steel blades have been hardened and tempered for durability and the cutting blade is PTFE coated for a smoother cutting action and resistance to rust. The simple to use telescopic handles provide the user with greater reach, lengthening the handles from 460mm (18") to 720mm (28") and are operated by a simple twist and lock mechanism, the handles are also finished with non-slip grips for a secure grip during use. This is the second Lopper I have bought, two because my wife and daughter strained their shoulders using the conventional none ratchet loppers, so I bought the extra one for them to share. No more bad shoulders. I would recommend this invaluable garden tool, almost makes gardening a pleasure!!
This product is of high quality and so easy to use. On top of that the price was excellent and delivery as promised. A great purchase. Highly recommended product and supplier
Excellent loppers. Not too heavy even after using for some time. The handles were comfortable and even very old thick bramble was no problem. Would recommend for virtually all garden pruning
They weren't kidding about being razorsharp! Excellent loppers that are light to use and the ratchet system really helps to cut through more difficult branches.
Very pleased with the speedy delivery time and the loppers are great. The ratchet really helps in cutting the thicker branches and its so much better now I can reach so much further without too much effort.
Brilliant! Have lots of shrubs which require constant attention to keep them from overgrowing the garden. These are brilliant cutters, and due to the ratchet facility, can cut through quite thick offshoots without resorting to a conventional saw. I haven't tested them to the limit yet, but so far I've cut through 1" branches with ease. A very good purchase.
A really nice idea not quite engineered to perfection. It does a wonderful job the ratchet pivot works superbly - I was able to cut Yew Branches 1 inch thick and Ash ones at least 11/2 inches by using the kinetic advantage this system gives. a 2 inch branch yielded to multiple cuts - it is quite easy to turn the jaws without opening them fully and cut another groove in the same place until the branch gives way. On long extension the arms flex but the rapid chop technique takes care of this - do not simply apply more brute force its not the way this device works. My only criticism is that one of the handle ferrules came out of the tube about the third time I changed length - I shall glue it in for next time with double sided tape. The locks on the lengthening tubes were stiff but on the whole better stiff than sloppy. The blade still seems sharp - and it is sharp quite different to those on bypass loppers - in fact it can be used to cut soft vegetation as well but a one hand pruner works quicker with less effort for that stuff.
Excellent loppers, I sheared off my old trusty ones after many years of use and these arrived quickly and do the job just at well. Great rachet and anvil system for chunky branches, the extending facility is good and stays put. Great price too.
This product has performed well for all the tasks I've used them for. The ratchet mechanism is a god-send when tackling larger pruning tasks, as are the telescopic handles for reach and leverage. They also mean you can prune inside a shrub without tearing your flesh to shreds. Wish I'd bought one of these years ago!
They are an excellent set of garden loppers . Cut through branches up to 60mm thick with no problem well exceeded my expectations . I would highly recommend them to anybody thinking if buying some .
